Leisure and entertainment in Malaga Port
With the completion of the remodelling of Pier One and Pier Two in 2012 they joined immediately the areas of interest in the centre of Malaga on own merit.
At Pier One there is a very long sea promenade along with boats, sailboats and yachts docked aside. From start to finish you can enjoy a walk seeing all kinds of shops and can taste dishes in good restaurants or have a drink in the bars installed in the area.
Halfway up Pier One is situated a chapel whose construction took place in 1531 when it was just a small oratory, having undergone several modifications over time. At the end of this pier is situated the lighthouse of Malaga; the harbour lighthouse construction ended in 1871 with 38 meters high and a reach of 25 nautical miles.
In the Dock Two awaits a nice walk from Pier Muelle Heredia until the beginning of Pier One covered by the Palmeral de las Sorpresas, which consists of a beautiful white structure in the form of waves that in turn serves as awning, decreasing the intensity of the sun for visitors to the Pier Two. During the stroll you´ll find next to you the Alborania Sea Museum dedicated to the marine world, the restaurant and cocktail bar Kaleidos, small parks, gardens and fountains.
Right at the end of Pier One is located the Marina Real Club Mediterraneo de Malaga which has 83 berths, 2 meters depth, 12 meters length along with all the services and facilities expected of a marina. This club has its own restaurant and throughout the year are performed various activities and water sports such as sailing and its various disciplines, competition rowing, diving, swimming and even athletics.
You can drive to the port without the slightest problem regarding parking thanks to the 30,000 square meters of parking available in an underground car park.
