Information about Malaga Airport

Malaga Airport was established in 1919 by the French company Lignes Aeriennes Latécoère. The official name changed to Malaga Airport - Costa del Sol in 2011. It enjoys easy access thanks to the two highways linking Malaga with the municipalities on the western Costa del Sol and which have properly signposted exits to the airport.

The airport has three terminals, plus two runways that work for take-offs and landings alike.

Terminal 1

It was the main terminal until 1991 when was built the T2 but today and after the opening of Terminal 3 it is closed to the public pending for approval of its use in the near future.

Terminal Two is still in use having two boarding areas. Overall, its activity is limited almost entirely to non-Schengen flights and other low cost airlines.

Following the opening of Terminal 3 in 2010, the other terminals which to date were the main arteries of passenger traffic, largely ceased their activity to gather most of the arrivals and departures of commercial flights at Terminal 3.

Second Runway
