Puerto Banus
Puerto Banus is the port of Marbella and a well-known recreation area for the rich and famous, just a few kilometers west from the city centre of Marbella.

It is a relatively recent travel destination however, because it used to be frequented only by locals and filmstars some decades ago, but now Puerto banus hotels have become more affordable, so you can stay in a luxury resort for a modest fee.
Today it is open to all kinds of tourists and visitors who enjoy admiring the picturesque marina with its luxurious yachts and exclusive restaurants and bars. Moreover, Puerto Banus offers a great deal of night clubs, world-class shopping (designer products) and casino facilities, but the town also disposes of more economical, traditionally Spanish shops and boutiques.
Notably the omnipresent Spanish department store El Corte Ingles with its five floors and the Marina Banus Shopping Centre are two of the most popular locations shoppers head for. Another option is a visit to the weekly market held in the bullring each Saturday morning which is a great way to buy both local products and holiday souvenirs.
Puerto Banus has a gorgeous golden beach, but the town also offers many other leisure possibilities, like exploring the Sierra Bermeja Mountains that rise up to the north of the town or practicing golf at one of the numerous courses, which obviously belong to the best ones in Europe. The local climate features 300 sunny days per year and an average temperature of 19ºC, whereas the best months to visit the resort and avoid the touristic hectic are May and September.
Tourists arriving at Malaga often opt for taking a shuttle bus from Malaga Airport to Puerto Banus because it is a quick and comfortable way to save time and stress.
