Manilva
Manilva is a small town just inland from the coastal village Sabinillas, located about 15 to 20 minutes west of Estepona and surrounded by a natural countryside with many vineyards that grow in the slopes around the locality.

It still belongs to the province of Malaga, even though it is one of the most western points before one enters the neighbouring province of Cadiz. The most outstanding site of Manilva is the stunnning church, which has a magnificent architecture and forms the main focal point of the town.
Like many other small villages in the hills of Andalusia, Manilva possesses a long history, dating back to prehistoric times. The town was also famous during the occupation by Romans and Moors, so that Julius Caesar took a bath in the local sulphurous springs in order to cure a skin disease.
Nowadays, Manilva appears to be a small thriving town where one can find numerous shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. It is a pretty popular area for real estate owners who enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of a small mountain village without living too far away from the coast.
Manilva is about 100km away from Malaga and the connection with public transport between the two localities is not too well developed, so taking a shuttle bus from Malaga Airport to Manilva might be a very good decision to save time and nerves.
